Others make travel journals or journals to commemorate special passages in their lives. Whether you write every day or just occasionally — if you love keeping journals, this workshop will help you bring your journals to a whole new level. Give your creativity a boost as you add color, texture, collage, layers, and 3-D forms to your journals. Build secret compartments, add flaps, tags, and windows into your pages. While you take a break from your writing, this series will inspire you to write more often, and with more passion, or just have more fun with your writing. Beginners and practicing artists welcomed. Join me for this fun day-long workshop to get started putting your vacation or travel mementos into a fabulous form that you'll love using for this and future books. We will start with watercolor paper, then make a home for your ‘treasures’ using paint, rubber stamps, and stencils, and collage. Finally, we will cut and fold to create windows or doors, add pockets, tags, and other paper structures to bring your travel adventures back to life! Stitch, cut, fold, tie, and glue your tickets, photos, tags, or brochures into this exciting book form, and you’ll never throw your travel mementos in a dusty box again.
